Accreditations for the umbrella companies we work with

Professional Passport Umbrella

The largest independent assessor of payment intermediary compliance. The only insurance backed accreditation. Recruitment companies provide an ‘uplifted’ rate to the Umbrella. This increased rate allows the umbrella to cover employment costs and their margin to ensure the worker is paid no less than the equivalent PAYE rate. Following challenges faced by many providers with the CRJS, some offer a range of contractual terms to ensure contractors are engaged on terms aligned to their roles to avoid issues in the future.

FCSA

FCSA accreditation is recognised as the industry’s compliance gold standard. As a service provider, accreditation will provide assurance to agencies, end hirers, and contractors that your business is fully compliant and transparent. For recruitment agencies, accreditation removes the time, complexity, and cost of implementing a robust preferred suppliers list. For end hirers, ensuring that your contingent workforce uses an accredited professional employment service provider helps to mitigate risk and ensures your supply chain is as robust as it can be.

An Umbrella Company

An Umbrella Company tends to employ a temporary worker on behalf of an employer on a contract basis, most often an agency or recruitment company. The Umbrella company then provides services such as payroll administration which can include services such as, administration, timesheets, invoicing for payment even calculations of tax and national insurance contributions.

The contractor will then receive weekly or monthly payment instalments in accordance with the agreement entered with the Umbrella company.

A Limited Company

A Limited Company is a business entity which is legally separate from its company directors, members and shareholders. As a result, the liability of directors, members and shareholders is limited by law if the company were to face legal action, declared bankrupt, or found themselves facing similar financial or legal issues.

They are administrated by the Companies Act 2006, including associated legislation, and are a popular form of incorporated business structure in the UK. In 2012, there were 1.3 million active limited companies in the UK, compared to 1.8 million at present.
